La survie au quotidien : résistance ou mobilisation

Abstract : This article discusses the meaning and the impact of the forms of resistance and mobilization through the ordinary experiences of the struggle for survival in the sertão of Bahia (Northeastern Brazil). This will be dealt within two parts. First, the material and symbolic ways of resistance of those who receive the social benefit of the Programme Bolsa Familia. Second, how their lives (from peasants to urban residents) in a local environment that is changing and their relation to Federal social policies affect their experiences and their ways of resisting.
